Web based editing makes it possible to work from anywhere
System 7 makes it possible for editors and journalists to edit content directly
inside the administration Web pages. The core technology that makes this possible is edit.NET,
which is an advanced online content editor that has been developed by the System 7 team.
edit.NET makes it easy to assign abstract styles to content copy, and can automatically "clean"
rich content that is pasted into it from stylised sources such as QuarkXPress. Full support for
undo/repeat and other features found is word processors and publishing systems is provided.
The edit.NET system leverages features inside Internet Explorer 5.5 and above, Netscape 7.1
and above, and Safari on OS X 10.4 and above, that make it possible to edit content from
inside the Web browser. If you are using one of these browsers, try clicking on "toogle content
editing" below to see how this works
Note: Netscape 7.1 is only available on Mac OS X 10.1.x and later. Before you can perform
copy and paste operation using Netscape it is necessary to make some configuration changes to
the user perferences file.
